It’s an absolute honor for Drishti Foundation Trust to be taking part to provide a shelter to birds and clean and free flow to a river. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and will be a moment in history that will always be remembered. Drishti Foundation Trust is starting Sabarmati River cleaning Initiative from Indira Bridge in Association with Distt Administration(Ahmedabad), Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Irrigation Department(Ahmedabad) and Forest Department(Ahmedabad) under Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban.
Venue:- Shri Shantivan Gayatri Sansthan, Bhadreshwar Hanuman Temple, Near Bhadreshwar Water Works, Behind Umiya Bungalows, Near Indira Bridge, Handol (Ahmedabad).
We are committed to clean Plastic Waste, Debris and other waste from the river. Working for Better Tomorrow!
We are happy to announe that Drishti Foundation Trust has adopted River Sabarmati in Ahmedabad in Association with ONGC.
We will be cleaning the five kilometers of Upstream area of River Sabarmati and maintaing the same for coming one year.
We intend to take up removal of plastic waste, metal waste, construction material waste, dead wood and leaves, debris collection and its removal from the river. Additionally we are planning to clean river water by removing plastic and other floating waste.
The same was inaugurated by Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Distt Collector, Ahmedabad.
This Cleanliness Drive will certainly provide and impart a better life for the people living in the city and we think there is an urgent requirement of such initiative at the present time in India.
As we prepare for the next millennium, we must find solutions to the problems that exist today not just from an environment point of view, but also from an educational and political standpoint.
